How to Pay Off Debt Fast: Avalanche vs Snowball

Debt feels heavier when you don't have a plan. Two simple methods — the avalanche and the snowball — turn a vague worry into a clear, finishable path.

The avalanche method (save the most money)

List every debt by interest rate, highest first. Pay minimums on all of them, then throw every spare dirham at the highest-rate debt. Once it's gone, roll that money into the next one. Mathematically, this saves you the most in total interest.

The snowball method (stay motivated)

List debts by balance, smallest first. Clear the smallest one fast for a quick win, then roll its payment into the next. You pay a little more interest overall, but the early wins keep you going — and motivation is what actually finishes the job.

💡 Choose avalanche if you're driven by numbers, snowball if you're driven by momentum. The best method is the one you'll stick to.
